How did the Formula E come about? This video will tell you a mythical, and not quite accurate, rendition of history.

For example, Spark Racing Technologies (SRT) did not pre-date the existence of Formula E but instead was created BY Formula E Holdings to manage the consortium which designed the race cars. Spark's staff did come from an earlier company, Formulec, which designed an earlier electric race car which itself provided inspiration for the Formula E series.
